Why I like Country Music
(Kudos and apologies to the writers and to the artists.)
I like country music because the lyrics tell a story and often those stories evoke images.
For example, “a woman like that walks into a place like this, you can almost hear the promises break". (?)
And, “ she was fighting them off at a corner table, she had a longneck bottle, she was peeling the label".
(A little less talk ...)
And lets not forget;
“ I took a two lane road to a one horse town” (Watermelon Festival?)
“ I spend most every night, beneath the light, of a neon moon” (Neon Moon)
And... You can't help but love a song that can rhyme park bench with torque wrench (Queen of my double wide trailer)
I love to lie and listen to the music, while the wind is strumming a sagebrush guitar. (Along the Navajo Trail)
He's brown as a berry, from riding the prairie ... (Cattle Call)
