The March Pizza Contest

The latest pizza contest is under (over) our belts. Susan and Pam (minus Sean, who was working) used Pam's square pizza stone and made a dual pizza. They lost style points because of the square stone (square pizzas! I don't think so!) but their pizzas were good. Mary and Mikey and Joey (the grand kids) had a good (tall) pizza with lots of different stuff on it.
Now to the good stuff. Peg and I made THE pizza, using the traditional round pizza stone. (We thought) It was excellent. And it was (I think). It got our vote.
As is becoming our custom, there was no clear cut winner. Oh sure, Mary and the grandsons got more votes than we did but there were three of them. There is a tendency to vote for your own pizza but that's understandable. You make a pizza using all the things you like (we like onions, Mary can't stand them) so naturally it's going to taste good to you. Better than those pizzas that don't have all the things you like or things you don't like. So maybe we'll rethink this voting thing. Something like either abstain or vote for another pizza. No voting for yours. That way only a pizza that's exceptional will get any votes. I like that.

If you have a pizza contest, I'd be interested in knowing how it turned out. I can be reached at tmurray@surewest.net
